People went crazy over the retail version that came complete with tearaway paisley paneling and braided laces, but like every major Travis Scott collab a much more exclusive version is also out there. All this to say, the Houston rapper getting his own SB Dunk collaboration is one of the coolest moments of his Nike relationship so far. Just look at the resell prices of Stüssy and Newcastle Dunks for proof. Even random GRs from 2015 flip for hundreds of dollars these days, but the value really skyrockets if the colorway has been spotted on Travis Scott. It’s been said ad nauseam at this point, but there may have been no figure more important to Nike SB’s rise from the ashes than Travis Scott. Makes me wonder, if it ever saw a wide-scale release, would it top the list as the greatest yellow sneaker of all time? Side note: good thing Travis and Offset wear the same size. The morning before I sat down to write this blurb, the Slack channel was talking about the best yellow sneakers in history and how frankly, there really are not that many contenders. Just like the retail pair, this unreleased version comes with a stash pocket for safekeeping and orange decals on its heel. Since then, we have seen the Migos rapper wear them at 2019’s ComplexCon as well as at Astroworld Festival. Offset said that he asked Travis for the sneakers and he gave them to him right off his feet. I specifically mention this pair because Offset recently revealed on Complex’s Sneaker Stories hosted by JLP that the pair you’ve seen is literally the only pair in existence. First appearing on the feet of La Flame, this pair of yellow Travis Scott Jordan 6s has had quite an interesting life.
