And even with that, you’re sort of taking a shot in the dark. TS: When it’s less information it’s challenging, which is probably why I gave three different choices. She’s a nerd.” What are they telling you and how do you know what to aim for, voice-wise? But suddenly she’s a hologram and what else can she do? It leaves everybody wondering, including myself.ĪVC: When a casting agent or show gives you the bare minimum description of what they’re looking for, what are you actually getting? Like, “She’s female. Miss Minutes falls right into that category where she is animated as sort of this old-timey animation exposition character. The whole show is this beautiful juxtaposition of old technology and new technology and old style with very modern situations. I think they chose the accent because you have this character that’s delivering exposition like, “If you don’t behave, you will die,” but there’s this very sweet tone, like “Y’all come back now you hear?” and “Don’t hesitate to let us know how we’re doing!” Then I laid down one that was in between that and my voice, and then one with an accent. I laid down three different voices, one of them being sort of more Siri-esque. I remember calling my agent saying, “Who is she? Is she sentient, is she this, is she that?” and they said, “We don’t really know.” With Loki, there was very few sides, very little character description, and certainly no show bible. It was a departure for me, too, because typically my on-camera roles are “cute teacher” or “fun mom.” Voiceover wise, certainly I’ve played a very wide range of characters, but on camera, there hasn’t been something that I could really sink my teeth into from an acting standpoint. Everybody wants to be the bad guy and to play this very layered character that would do anything for her children and also rises from under the thumb of misogynists into her own power, so that was so rewarding. My voiceover agent said, “everything’s shut down here and you can work from home, so go.” Even though it was challenging, it worked out for me timewise to go to Toronto and shoot this show, which was an extraordinary experience. Eventually, they texted me to say that they were going to start shooting, and I was like, “really?” Because it was COVID, I got to bring my kids because everything was shut down. So I was completely intrigued by everything surrounding this show.Īnd then everything shut down because of COVID. This show is a powerhouse, and it’s really rooted in women having power and taking their power back. I had *the* most perfect outfits for us to wear.We were all talking about our experiences being phoenixes rising, and coming out from under the shell of a misogynist. You just never let us *play* any of them! But it's not just your band, Rainbow Dash! It might have been your idea to start a band. How can I not know what to do? How can I have failed like this? Me! I'm just trying to make sure my band rocks as hard as it needs to.īut why wasn't it working? I should know what to do. She was talking about *you*, Rainbow Dash! Hey! If want to tell Twilight she's getting to a little too caught trying to be the new leader of this band, you don't have to be all criptic about it. I don't think the counter spell would have worked anyway.Īssumin' a certain band member didn't try to hog the spotlight whole time we were tryin' to play it! Maybe it doesn't even matter that we're trapped down here. I had to find someone who wasn't under The Sirens' spell to help me get you out. I don't think anyone is supposed to have all the answers. I'm supposed to be the one with all the answers, and all I've done since I got here is let you down. I can't believe all this tension was happening right under my nose and I didn't realize it. But I do know that if you don't work out even the smallest problems right at the start, the magic of friendship can be turned into something else. Not when I'm so new to this friendship thing. Have you bought your Twilight movie tickets yet? My hope is that Paramore has a part in the soundtrack to Breaking Dawn, as well as any subsequent sequels. I do not own this song, the credits go to Paramore. If any of you guys want me to make a 1hour song you like, just comment the name of the song and the Band/S. Now that the final result has been released, I can't stop listening to it! Paramore was a perfect choice - the lyrics go right along with the plot, and Hayley's voice seems to tell the story from Bella's point of view, just like the book does (which is great, because I can't imagine Bella herself being much of a singer). So, when it was announced that Paramore would be recording two songs for the soundtrack, I was thrilled. hayley williams 2007 2008 2010 2014 tiny but mighty mine timeline kiss me decode blonde bleach blonde red hair short. Williams makes an expected yet wholly welcomed return to red hair, this time with a more neutral auburn shade. Good Dye Young In 2016, Paramore vocalist Hayley Williams launched a vegan and cruelty-free hair dye company called Good Dye Young alongside her makeup artist and hairstylist Brian O'Connor. If you're a Twilight fan, chances are you've heard the new Paramore song, "Decode."īut, in the slight chance that you are not one of the many who have bought the Twilight Soundtrack or heard the Paramore song all over the radio, let me just tell you - you're missing out. Amanda Krause Hayley Williams and Brian O'Connor are the co-founders of Good Dye Young. But how often should it be done? It depends on a few factors, but here’s a general guideline to help you keep your engine in top shape. Replacing your engine coolant is an important maintenance task that should not be neglected. The coolant selection must specify that it’s intended for your application to avoid compatibility problems. Keep in mind that the color of the coolant is not important. Silicated HOAT coolant – You’ll use this purple coolant for high-performance European models like Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, and some VW models.Phosphated HOAT coolant is a common coolant chosen by popular Asian brands like Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, and Mazda. The coolant color is typically turquoise. Phosphate-free HOAT coolant – It’s used primarily by BMW, Volvo, Tesla, and MINI.HOAT coolant – Commonly yellow coolant, it’s intended for Ford, Chrysler, and many European brands. They’re usually orange but can also be dark green, red, pink, yellow, or purple, depending on the coolant brand. OAT coolant – General Motors, Saab, and Volkswagen vehicles. The common color of this coolant is green. IAT coolant – older vehicles across all makes and models, typically around 2001 and older. It provides the best protection against corrosion and overheating and can be used in a wide range of vehicles, especially those that use aluminum components. Hybrid Organic Acid Technology, or HOAT coolants, combines the best aspects of both conventional and long-life OAT coolants. It has a longer service life and is more environmentally friendly. It stands for Organic Acid Technology, and, as the name states, it uses organic acids instead of traditional inorganic inhibitors to resist corrosion. No, there aren’t any cereals involved in OAT coolant. The base fluid is ethylene glycol, containing corrosion inhibitors that are considered not organic, such as silicates. Your conventional, green coolant that many DIYers are familiar with is known as an Inorganic Additive Technology, or IAT coolant. Generally, there are three coolant chemistries that each will fit into. Each brand has its own lineup of antifreeze or coolant products in the automotive market. People went crazy over the retail version that came complete with tearaway paisley paneling and braided laces, but like every major Travis Scott collab a much more exclusive version is also out there. All this to say, the Houston rapper getting his own SB Dunk collaboration is one of the coolest moments of his Nike relationship so far. Just look at the resell prices of Stüssy and Newcastle Dunks for proof. Even random GRs from 2015 flip for hundreds of dollars these days, but the value really skyrockets if the colorway has been spotted on Travis Scott. It’s been said ad nauseam at this point, but there may have been no figure more important to Nike SB’s rise from the ashes than Travis Scott. Makes me wonder, if it ever saw a wide-scale release, would it top the list as the greatest yellow sneaker of all time? Side note: good thing Travis and Offset wear the same size. The morning before I sat down to write this blurb, the Slack channel was talking about the best yellow sneakers in history and how frankly, there really are not that many contenders. Just like the retail pair, this unreleased version comes with a stash pocket for safekeeping and orange decals on its heel. Since then, we have seen the Migos rapper wear them at 2019’s ComplexCon as well as at Astroworld Festival. Offset said that he asked Travis for the sneakers and he gave them to him right off his feet. I specifically mention this pair because Offset recently revealed on Complex’s Sneaker Stories hosted by JLP that the pair you’ve seen is literally the only pair in existence. First appearing on the feet of La Flame, this pair of yellow Travis Scott Jordan 6s has had quite an interesting life. He does not fear Cassius, although he knows him to be a danger to political leaders, because he believes that he and Cassius occupy two separate levels of existence. He enters the action of the play by advising Calphurnia to seek a cure for her sterility by ritual, and he exits fifteen lines later, dismissing the soothsayer as "a dreamer." He ignores the soothsayer, Calphurnia, the many portents, his priests, and finally Artemidorus because he has ceased to think of himself as a fallible human being, and because he passionately wants to be crowned king. Caesar, who is so perceptive in his analysis of Cassius, cannot always look "quite through the deeds" of a calculating deceiver.įrom his first appearance, Caesar openly displays a superstitious nature, but also from the beginning he displays a propensity to ignore warnings and signs that should alert a man of his beliefs. Instead, he ignores them because of Decius' challenge to his sense of pride and to his ambition. He expresses a fatalistic acceptance of the inevitability of death when he tells Calphurnia how strange it is to him "that men should fear / Seeing that death, a necessary end, / Will come when it will come." But it is not his belief that the hour of his death has been predetermined and thus cannot be avoided that causes him to ignore the portents, his priests, and Calphurnia. His potential for evil is further emphasized by the swiftness with which he summarily has Flavius and Marullus "put to silence." Finally, at the very moment preceding his death, Caesar compares himself to the gods of Olympus in his determination to continue his arbitrary administration of Roman justice.Ĭaesar's teeming arrogance and pride more than offset his proven ability to reason. for always I am Caesar." However, his reference to his partial deafness provides an obvious contrast between the conceptions of the vain man who perceives himself in godlike terms and the actual, aging man who stands in imminent danger of assassination. He does not fear Cassius because he believes himself to be beyond the reach of mere humans, and he caps his explanation of his incapability of experiencing fear by observing, ". Caesar's opinion of himself throughout shows that he complies with that attitude. In so doing, he has projected Caesar as a man whom the nobility have just reasons to fear, yet who is not a villain.įlavius concludes his criticism of Caesar in Act I, Scene 1, by expressing his fear that Caesar desires to "soar above the view of men / And keep us all in servile fearfulness." His opinion is given credence when, moments later, Casca and Antony's attitude toward Caesar demonstrates that they consider him a man whose every wish should be considered a command by the citizens of Rome. In fact, Shakespeare creates in Caesar a character who is sometimes reasonable, sometimes superstitious, sometimes compassionate, and sometimes arrogantly aloof. On the other hand, if Caesar were wholly the bloody tyrant, there would be little cause for Brutus' hesitation and no justification for Antony's thirst for revenge. If Brutus and Cassius were eminently evil men insidiously planning the cold-blooded murder of an eminently admirable ruler, Julius Caesar would be little more than a melodrama of suspense and revenge. In using Julius Caesar as a central figure, Shakespeare is less interested in portraying a figure of legendary greatness than he is in creating a character who is consistent with the other aspects of his drama. I planned on making a galaxy on her face…but it didn’t really work out the way I planned. Suddenly her image pops into my head, and I knew that that was what I was going to be my inspiration for this project. Fast forward to me sitting in my photo class here, and struggling to come up with an idea for my current project. Put black light glitter on someones face instead of makeup? Yeah, thats sick. A few months back, she had this genius idea for her senior year photography class. She is definitely one of the most gorgeous and down to earth people that I have ever met, and she also happens to be one of my best friends! She is incredibly creative and quite the photog herself. Just google blaghlight images and you find a lot of inspiration. Wall art, night sky in the room, stars on the wall are all the same. For abstract paintings, only your imagination is the limit. Be aware, some of your normal paints might already reflect blacklight. For painters you have to experiment a lot how your own paints mixed with blacklight paints react in both cases (daylight and blacklight). Painting them on top of a bought painting print is very easy for non-painters. So on your painting you have only to put this colors (invisible or not) on the sides of the objects which are exposed to the source of the light in the painting (i.e. This is a very simplified painting where I decided to go with only two blacklight colors (second image): blue and green. The sun (becomes a moon by night) sets the highlights in the painting: half of the mountains, half of the trees, glowing water, and the grass. See my first blacklight painting attached, daylight (first) and blacklight (second). Those are the areas which will have to glow under black light, and those are the colors you need. Look at your painting and see which areas are highlighted most. In a normal painting night scene you have a lot of dark and only some bright highlighted areas. First you have to look at your painting (or what you know your painting will look like) and decide what colors you need. The Amsterdam paints are very good for the first scenario, and the second but only if you are carefull how you apply them. Invisible paints also come in colors (meaning which color they reflect under blacklight). This will be used in the second scenario. The second one is invisible in daylight and visible with black light (UV) and therefore can be used on finished paintings without changing the apperance of the painting in daylight. The first one is also visible in daylight and you usually use it in scenario 1 when mixed with the normal paints to create the painting. There are two main categories of paint: visible blacklight paint and invisible blacklight paint. You find a lot of online shops if you google for "uv paint" or "blacklight paint" but here is one for you to see the difference between the paints.

Subsequently, the Fugees, Puff Daddy, and Jay-Z joined the roster of winners before the decade concluded.Īs the new millennium dawned, hip-hop asserted its dominance on global music charts, with artists exploring fresh sub-genres and pushing the boundaries of their tracks even further. Naughty by Nature clinched the inaugural win. In 1995, the Grammys introduced a new award for the best rap album. This era marked the emergence of Nelly, Timbaland, Puff Daddy, Jay-Z, and Eminem. 1995-2000: The Commercialization of Hip-Hop The latter half of the 1980s and the early 1990s saw an unprecedented rise in admiration for hip-hop, captivating audiences worldwide and solidifying the genre’s influence on the musical landscape. This period marked a global embrace of hip-hop tracks, introducing iconic musical legends like: It wasn’t just a response to problems it became a powerful force for bringing people together and expressing resilience in tough times. Instead of being held back by tough situations and differences between races, hip-hop turned those challenges into a way for people to connect and express themselves as a community. It became a way for people to be creative and deal with problems like violence. DJs and MCs, who got inspired by Jamaican music, brought their music to the streets using mobile “Sound Systems.” Cardboard pieces turned into dance floors for break dancers, and walls became canvases for graffiti artists.Įven though there was a lot of anger and tough times, hip-hop brought a new energy. So, young people in the city turned to the streets to find a way to express themselves.Įmpty buildings and parking lots became the places where hip-hop took its first steps. Many businesses shut down, people lost jobs, and there wasn’t much fun stuff to do. At that time, things were tough in New York City. Let’s talk about hip-hop, a music genre that emerged in the United States in the 1970s. Computed tomography (CT) rules out neurosurgical emergencies, provides superior visualization of bony details, particularly if metastases involve the calvarium, and is used for patients with MRI contraindications. The preoperative workup of lesions suggestive of brain metastases centers on neuroimaging. This review will cover recent innovations in neurosurgical techniques and intraoperative considerations for the treatment of brain metastases ( Table 1). 7, 8 Given the growing epidemiological and clinical burden of brain metastases, advancements in surgical management are imperative. 1, 6 Neurosurgery is an essential tool in the therapeutic arsenal against brain metastases and has been shown to improve survival and quality of life. 6 As cancer treatment, diagnosis, and surveillance improve, incidence rates will continue to rise. 4, 5 Incidence rates of BMs are difficult to assess since no national registries exist specifically for patients with brain metastases, and current estimates likely underestimate the true burden of disease. 1 Population-based studies estimate that 8.5–9.6% of cancer patients will develop a BM, 2, 3 while autopsy studies suggest that approximately 25% of people who die of cancer had developed metastatic disease to the brain. Pushed forward by these multidisciplinary innovations, neurosurgery has never been a safer, more effective treatment for patients with brain metastases.īrain metastases (BMs) are the most common type of intracranial tumor in adults, occurring about 10 times more frequently than primary malignant brain tumors. Endoscopes, exoscopes, and fluorescent-guided surgery enable increasingly high-definition visualizations of metastatic lesions that were previously difficult to achieve. Neuronavigation has become a cornerstone of operative workflow, while intraoperative ultrasound (iUS) and intraoperative brain mapping generate real-time renderings of the brain unaffected by brain shift. Brachytherapy has highlighted the potential of locally delivering therapeutic agents to the resection cavity with high rates of local control. Supramarginal surgery has pushed the boundaries of achieving complete removal of metastases without recurrence, especially in eloquent regions when paired with intraoperative neuromonitoring. Minimally invasive neurosurgical approaches, including keyhole craniotomies and tubular retractors, optimize the preservation of normal parenchyma without compromising extent of resection. From standard magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) sequences to functional neuroimaging, preoperative workups for metastatic disease allow high-resolution detection of lesions and at-risk structures, facilitating safe and effective surgical planning. As the epidemiological and clinical burden of brain metastases continues to grow, advances in neurosurgical care are imperative. |
